How To Set Up Website Hosting in 3 Easy Steps

Your website hosting is where all of your website files and data are stored. And it’s pretty easy to set up. I’ll show you step-by-step below how to set up website hosting.

I’ve used and worked with many different hosting companies over the years, some are better than others. I recommend SiteGround or Flywheel. I highly recommend either company if you’re planning to manage your website hosting yourself. They both have amazing performance and exceptional customer service.

A NOTE ABOUT EMAIL . . .

Even though it’s often available for free, I do NOT recommend using email through any hosting account (cPanel email). Stick with Google G Suite or Office365 for your domain based email. Personally, I use Google G Suite for email and I love it!

HOW TO SET UP WEBSITE HOSTING IN 3 STEPS

STEP 1 – CHOOSE YOUR HOSTING PLAN

SiteGround has three Managed WordPress hosting plans to choose from. All plans include free SSL (https). For most clients, I recommend the GrowBig plan. It covers everything you’ll need, unless you know you’ll need extra space or anticipate a lot of traffic to your site. Click here to sign up.

After you’ve decided on a hosting plan, click the orange “GET PLAN” button.

STEP 2 – CHOOSE DOMAIN

Select “Register a New Domain” if you don’t already have one and type your desired domain name in the box and select to see if it’s available. If it’s not, you can see similar options or search for another until you find one that is available.

If you already have your domain name, select “I already have a Domain” and type your domain name in the box. Be sure to select the correct extension such as .com, .net, .org. etc.

Click the blue “PROCEED” button.

That’s it, your hosting account is setup!

I only recommend products and services I personally use in my own business and/or those I fully trust to provide you with exceptional service and quality. Some links may be affiliate links, which means that if you purchase or sign up for service through my link, I may receive a small commission for referring you – which my boys appreciate, because that means mom might get them a new nerf gun 😉
